Important Information
Disclaimer
Review the Messages can help you see an online relationship more clearly, but there are limits to what a message review can tell you.
Review the Messages provides private, impartial reviews of customer-submitted conversations from online and long-distance relationships.
You may be using the service because you have questions about your own relationship, or because you are worried about a parent, child, sibling, friend, or other person you care about who is talking to someone online.
We look at the messages as a whole and point out what appears consistent, what seems reassuring, what may not line up, and what may deserve a closer look.
A Message Review Has Limits
Messages can provide useful information, but they cannot tell us everything about another person or a relationship.
A Review the Messages report is not proof that someone is honest, dishonest, legitimate, fraudulent, safe, unsafe, or who they claim to be.
We do not promise that a review will confirm your concerns, and we do not promise that it will reassure you.
We start with the conversation, not a predetermined conclusion.
We Review What You Give Us
Our assessment is based on the messages, screenshots, documents, explanations, and other materials you submit.
Missing messages, deleted conversations, edited screenshots, conversations on another platform, or important information that was never shared with us can affect the review.
We cannot analyze information we do not have.
We Are Not Verifying Someone’s Identity
Unless a report specifically says otherwise, Review the Messages does not independently verify another person’s identity, employment, income, location, photographs, family circumstances, medical claims, travel plans, financial situation, or other outside facts.
For example, if someone in an online relationship says they work overseas, are unable to access money, have a medical emergency, plan to visit soon, or need financial help, we can look at how those claims appear within the conversation. That does not mean we have independently proven whether the claims are true or false.
We Are Not a Private Investigation or Background-Check Service
Review the Messages is not a private investigator, background-check company, law-enforcement agency, dating or matchmaking service, or identity-verification service.
If you need someone’s identity, criminal history, financial background, or other outside information independently investigated, you may need a qualified professional or appropriate public authority.
Requests for Money and Other High-Stakes Situations
Some customers come to us because an online relationship involves requests for money, investments, travel expenses, medical emergencies, gift cards, cryptocurrency, loans, or other financial commitments.
We can review how those requests appear in the conversation and whether there are patterns of pressure, urgency, changing explanations, repeated emergencies, or other concerns.
We are not a financial adviser and cannot tell you whether a particular payment, investment, loan, or financial transaction is safe.
If a large amount of money is involved, consider speaking with your bank, financial institution, attorney, law enforcement, or another appropriate professional before sending additional funds.
Personal Safety
A message review cannot guarantee that meeting or continuing contact with another person is safe.
If you believe you or someone else may be in immediate danger, do not rely on Review the Messages. Contact the appropriate emergency services or law-enforcement authority.
Not Legal, Medical, or Mental-Health Advice
Review the Messages does not provide legal, medical, mental-health, immigration, financial, or other professional advice.
If your situation involves one of those areas, the report may help you organize your questions, but it should not replace advice from a qualified professional.
Technology May Assist the Review
We may use technology, including automated or artificial-intelligence tools, to help organize large message histories, build timelines, compare statements, and identify patterns.
Technology is an aid to the review process. Final reports are reviewed by a person before they are delivered.
The Final Decision Is Yours
Our job is to give you a clearer view of the conversation.
We are not making relationship decisions for you. Whether you continue a relationship, end contact, send money, travel to meet someone, share personal information, or make another commitment is ultimately your decision.
We encourage customers to consider the report along with their own judgment, other available information, and professional advice when appropriate.
